Craig Houghton, Registered Architect, ANZIA, founded Houghton Architecture in 2018. Craig has over 20 years of experience working on high end residential, commercial, hospitality and multi-unit housing projects. Craig has been privileged to work for a number of highly regarded practices throughout his career, giving him a solid grounding in all aspects of architectural practice.
Over the years Craig has developed a strong understanding New Zealand’s building regulatory framework and construction techniques. He pairs this knowledge with a finely honed design sensibility to create solutions which are practical, robust, and refined. Craig believes that good design is about responding to the needs of the client and working with the conditions of the site. Every project has a unique set of requirements and Craig enjoys the challenge of working with these to create solutions that are innovative, beautiful, practical and perfectly suited to the needs of the client.
